UrgentRx provides over-the-counter medications in an innovative fast-acting powder format, available in convenient, single-dose, credit card-sized packets for easier portability and accessibility. Initially developed for heart attack victims, who are 23% more likely to survive by taking aspirin at the first sign of a heart attack, UrgentRx’s products also provide quick and easy relief from headaches and aches and pains.

UrgentRx is the first recipient of the University of Colorado Denver Business School’s student-run Rutt Bridges Venture Capital Fund at the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship, selected for the innovativeness of the product and its potential to become a significant player in the market.

Jordan Eisenberg

Jordan Eisenberg is the Founder and President of UrgentRx.  Prior to founding UrgentRx, Jordan served as a top-producing Sales Director for a publicly traded technology finance company.  In 2007, Jordan started The Buddy Network, a consumer-based web company with over 100,000 users worldwide.  In 2006, Jordan invented the CollarCard and BottleCard, which were acquired by JUMP Investors.  Jordan has also invented and successfully licensed a medical device to a major manufacturer.  Previously, Jordan worked along side of serial entrepreneur Maurice Kanbar, the Founder of Skyy Vodka, the Inventor of D-Fuzz-It, and holder of more than 35 patents.  While working with Maurice, Jordan was instrumental in the production, launch and strategy implementation for Zip Notes, a consumer goods office product invention, as well as several other consumer product businesses.  Jordan has experience in manufacturing and production, sales and marketing, public relations, and strategic planning, with an affinity for high growth companies.  He began his professional career working for an investment bank.

Jordan was a Dean’s List Scholar at Vanderbilt University, where he graduated with a double major in Computer Science Engineering and Mathematics.


Randall Kaplan

Randall Kaplan is the Founder and President of JUMP Investors, a Los Angeles-based investment firm specializing in real estate, private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital.  Since its formation, JUMP has invested in more than 40 early-stage technology companies, including Seagate, Google, and Postini, a leading email outsourcing company purchased by Google in 2007.  In 1998, Randall co-founded Akamai Technologies, the leader in powering rich media, dynamic transactions, and enterprise applications online.  Before co-founding Akamai, Randall was a Managing Director at SunAmerica Inc. specializing in mergers and acquisitions.  Prior to SunAmerica, Randall practiced corporate and tax law for several years.  Randall is a member of the Northwestern Law Board, serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council of the University of Michigan’s College of Arts, Sciences and Literature, and served on the board of directors of Arbinet, Inc. prior to its merger with Primus Telecommunications Group, Inc.  Randall is also the owner and Managing Member of CollarCard, LLC, a Los Angeles-based promotional products company, and is also the Managing Member of Arbicha, LLC, a Los Angeles-based investment firm.

Randall earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa during his junior year and graduated with Highest Distinction.  He graduated with honors from Northwestern University School of Law, and in 2006 was the recipient of the school’s first Distinguished Entrepreneur Award.


Robert King

Robert King is the CEO of Skinit, an on-demand consumer personalization technology company which has received $60 million in venture capital funding.  Most notably, Bob served as CEO of Corporate Express, the world’s then largest distributor of office supplies that was purchased by Staples for $4.8 billion in 2007.  Prior to Corporate Express, Bob served as CEO at FoxMeyer Corporation, the third largest distributor of pharmaceuticals and health and beauty aids in the United States with $4 billion in revenues.  Bob has also served as CEO of three other companies including Requisite Technology, a provider of software and services for catalog and parts file management; Clickbank, an online retailer of digital products; and Eco-Products, a manufacturer and distributor of environmentally friendly single serve food service products.  Bob has extensive experience with high growth companies, turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and financings.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Douglas Bierer, Ph.D.

Dr. Douglas Bierer is President of Douglas Bierer Consulting, LLC, a consulting firm focused on regulatory affairs and product development issues for non-prescription drugs and cosmetic products in the pharmaceutical industry.  In this role, Dr. Bierer acts as a strategic advisor to companies in various areas including prescription to over-the-counter switches, FDA advisory committee meetings, and over-the-counter monograph drug and cosmetic product issues.  Prior to this role, Dr. Bierer was the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs and Toxicology at Procter & Gamble.  He has also served as the Chief Scientist and Vice President of Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA).  Dr. Bierer has more than 25 years of experience in the drug industry in FDA regulatory affairs and compliance, toxicology, and clinical development, and has been actively involved in numerous industry committees, seminars, and conferences.

Dr. Bierer received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Minnesota and his Masters of Science degree in human physiology / biochemistry from Michigan State University.


Scott Epstein

Scott Epstein is the Chief Marketing Officer at Tout.com, a social media startup.  Before joining Tout.com, Scott served as Google’s first Vice President of Marketing.  Prior to Google, he founded Spinner.com which was sold to AOL for $325 million, served as Vice President of Marketing at Plaxo, and was CEO of Musicfans.com.  Previously, Scott served as Brand Manager at Miller Brewing Company, Account Director at Burson-Marsteller, and Vice President of Marketing at Cincinnati Bell.  Scott has more than 25 years of experience in the internet, telecommunications, consumer packaged goods, media, and entertainment sectors.

Suneel Gupta

Suneel Gupta loves to build things from scratch.  As Groupon’s current and first Vice President of Product Development, Suneel spearheaded the company’s personalization engine, developed new business channel extensions, and introduced new product innovations to the burgeoning multi-billion dollar deal-of-the-day industry.  Prior to Groupon, Suneel served as Director of Mozilla Labs, where he built new products for Firefox (the world’s second largest web browser), including Personas, which has been downloaded over 35 million times by customers around the world.  Prior to Mozilla, Suneel led innovation efforts at Accenture and Tata in Mumbai, India.  He also served as a speechwriter in the Clinton White House and as Deputy Platform Director for the Democratic National Committee, where he drafted the party’s nationwide platform in 2004.  Suneel also blogged for MTV, and produced the Kahani Movement, an interactive film project which debuted at South by Southwest with his brother Dr. Sanjay Gupta (CNN).

Suneel earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with honors from the University of Michigan, and holds an MBA and JD from Northwestern University.


Jack Lewin, M.D.

Since November 2006, Dr. Jack Lewin has been Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Cardiology, whose mission is to promote heart health and reductions in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.  Dr. Lewin is responsible for all aspects of the 36,000 member organization and oversees its $90 million annual budget.  Prior to joining the ACC, Dr. Lewin served as CEO of the California Medical Association, the nation’s largest state medical association, with over $45 million in annual revenues and over 300 employees.  Before CMA, Dr. Lewin was Hawaii’s Director of Health from 1986 through 1994, managing 6,500 employees and a $1 billion budget.  He has spent many years practicing primary care medicine in Arizona, Hawaii, and California and has served on numerous national boards and advisory committees.  Dr. Lewin is a Founder and President of the Physicians’ Foundation, which is among the top 10 health-related philanthropies nationwide and is also Chair, President, and a Founder of the National Patient Safety Institute.  Dr. Lewin was an advisor on health policy to President Clinton and has been honored with many awards including the Health Leader of the Year Award from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Commissioned Officers’ Association and the Nathan Davis Award from the American Medical Association.  His publications have appeared in professional, scientific, and national media sources.

Dr. Lewin received his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and his M.D. from the University of Southern California.


Nancy Rosenzweig

Nancy Rosenzweig is a social enterprise executive and strategist.  Nancy currently serves as Managing Director of Mamma Chia, an organic vitality beverage.  Previously, Nancy was President and CEO of Polliwalks, an innovative footwear company.  Prior to Polliwalks, Nancy served as President and CEO of The Natural Dentist, an oral care company using exclusively natural ingredients.  In this role, she led the rebranding and reformulation of the original product line, raised significant venture capital, and grew the company 10-fold.  Nancy has also served as Chief Marketing Officer at Zipcar, has overseen marketing and communications at Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Inc., and has served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Tom’s of Maine.  Nancy supports entrepreneurship and socially responsible organizations, and is a Director at the Forsyth Institute for Oral Biology and Visionspring.  Nancy was also recently nominated as a Director of Trillium Asset Management, a $1 billion asset manager focused on environmental, social, and governance issues.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College and an MBA in International Marketing from Northeastern University.  She served as a teaching fellow at Harvard University and was recognized with a distinguished teaching award.


Will Weisman

Will Weisman is the Founder and CEO of Santa.com, a social registry and gifting solution.  Prior to Santa.com, Will served as President of Tonic.com, a media site focused on positive world activities.   Previously, Will founded and ran Phix, a Seattle based health and wellness company, which was sold in early 2010.  Before these positions, he held a number of roles including serving as principal at Maveron, a consumer focused venture capital firm founded by Dan Levitan and Howard Schultz, serving as an entrepreneur in residence and venture associate at Foundation Capital, and founding World Wrapps, Inc., where he grew the company into a 30-store business with over 600 employees.  Will began his career at Intuit and has a hybrid of investment and entrepreneurial experience in the consumer technology and consumer products industries.

Will earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  He is the recipient of the Visionary Award and Nation’s Restaurant News’ Hot Concept Award.
